Message from the Director of Awa Odori Festival Hall

Awa Odori Festival Hall (Awa Odori Kaikan in Japanese) is a facility for tourists, which presents the attraction of Awa Odori, one of the greatest traditional performing arts in Japan. Tokushima City’s Awa Odori Festival is held between the 12th and 15th of August every year - however, we would like people from all over the world to enjoy Awa Odori all year round. This was the reason Awa Odori Festival Hall was established in July of 1999, at the base of Mt. Bizan, which is a symbol of Tokushima City. You can enjoy a dynamic Awa Odori performance during the day or evening, learn about the history and culture of Awa Odori at the museum, or participate in some Awa Odori workshops or events at the Media Square. Awa Odori Festival Hall is the perfect place for enjoying Awa Odori. Please come and feel the excitement of Awa Odori here.

A Friendly Logo

Awaodori Kaikan
We have created a new logo for Awa Odori Festival Hall, which you can see is familiar. As you may have noticed, the shape of the Awa Odori Festival Hall building is a unique inverted trapezoid and we use this form in our logo. The catchphrase on the logo, “Let’s Enjoy Awa Odori,” expresses our hope that people who visit here will enjoy a memorable experience.
